  • I learned how to gain points by serving the ball, doing the spiking strategies, blocking the ball from the net (being the spike),  hitting the ball backwards and forwards to the opponents' court, also on how to anllow the ball from hitting the ground and most especially on how to play the game neatly (without disnonesty) in order to achieve a good sportsmanship.

  • Volleyball is a sport played by two six person teams which are separated by a net. Ball is put into play by one player serving the ball, and the object being to ground the ball on the opponent's net in order to score points.
  • The usual pattern is a dig (an underarm pass made with the forearms), a set (an overhead pass made with the hands) and a spike (the overhead attacking shot). The ball is served into play. Teams can also try to block the opponent's spike as it crosses the net. A block into your own court counts as one of your three touches in Beach Volleyball, but not in Volleyball.
  •  A player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. They may touch the ball as many as three times.

Volleyball is usually played with the hands or arms, but players can legally strike or push (short contact) the ball with any part of the body.
A number of consistent techniques have evolved in volleyball, including spiking and blocking (because these plays are made above the top of the net the vertical jump is an athletic skill emphasised in the sport) as well as passing, setting, and specialized player positions and offensive and defensive structures
The agility and power of the players and the speed of the rallies, make it one of the most explosive of all team games and one of the most popular.

Volleyball is a sport that has only been around for a little over a hundred years, but has had major success around the world. For those who don't know, volleyball is a sport played by two six person teams which are separated by a net. Ball is put into play by one player serving the ball, and the object being to ground the ball on the opponent's net in order to score points. It has come so far in its short existence that it is played in every major international sporting event, including the Olympics.
Volleyball is one of the fastest grow sports in history, expanding around the world. Beach volleyball, a variation of the game played on sand and with only two players per team, became an indorsed variation in 1987 and was added to the Olympics program at the 1996 Olympics. From a small town game to a world phenomenon, Volleyball has come a long way and continues to grow into a sport played and enjoyed by millions of people.

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
The complete rules are extensive. But simply, play proceeds as follows: A player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. They may touch the ball as many as three times.
The rally continues, with each team allowed as many as three consecutive touches, until either (1): a team makes a kill, grounding the ball on the opponent's court and winning the rally; or (2): a team commits a fault and loses the rally. The team that wins the rally is awarded a point, and serves the ball to start the next rally.

Volleyball is a complex game of simple skills. The ball is spiked height of a basketball hoop and takes fractions of a second to travel from the spiker to the receiver. That means the receiver must assess incoming angle, decide where to pass the ball and then control their pass in the blink of an eye. A purely rebound sport (you can't hold the ball), Volleyball is a game of constant motion.
A team can touch the ball three times on its side of the net. The usual pattern is a dig (an underarm pass made with the forearms), a set (an overhead pass made with the hands) and a spike (the overhead attacking shot). The ball is served into play. Teams can also try to block the opponent's spike as it crosses the net. A block into your own court counts as one of your three touches in Beach Volleyball, but not in Volleyball.
Power and height have become vital components of international teams, but the ability of teams and coaches to devise new strategies, tactics and skills has been crucial for continued success.

Volleyball is a team sport and game played by two teams, usually of six players on a side. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. which the players use their hands to bat a ball back and forth over a high net, trying to make the ball touch the court within the opponents playing area before it can be returned. To prevent this a player on the opposing team bats the ball up and toward a teammate before it touches the court surface that teammate may then volley it back across the net or bat it to a third teammate who volleys it across the net. A team is allowed only three touches of the ball before it must be returned over the net.
